The Environmental Data Portal provides an easy way to find, access and reuse national data. Our main purpose is to provide easy access and safe storage for Environmental datasets to be used for monitoring, evaluating, and analysing environmental conditions and trends to support environmental planning, forecasting, and reporting requirements at all levels. We encourage you to use publicly available government data to analyse and develop tools and applications to benefit all citizens.

Tonga’s State of Environment Report 2018 is complete and currently awaiting official approval and launch. The report is based on 7 thematic areas and it was developed to answer 3 key questions related to the environment;

1. What is the current condition of the Tongan environment?
2. What are the risks the Tongan environment faces and what measures have been put forward to minimise them
3. Where is the environment of Tonga headed based on the assessed thematic areas?

Nuku’alofa – October 15, 2020: 2.50pm (Enviro News): The Inform Project, managed by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) is holding training and one on one meetings with staff of the Department of Environment here in Tonga this week.

The training started on Wednesday at the department’s conference room, facilitated by National Local Consultant Mr Siosiua Latu.

This dataset gives an overview of the Hunga-Tonga Hunga-Ha'apai volcanic eruption that occurred on 15 Jan, 2022 and led to an induced tsunami event.  From updates, to spatial maps and damage preliminary impact assessments detected from Pleiades images. You can easily access and find them all on this dashboard.
